Laid off 101 is an online community for people who, either by choice or by lay off are not formally employed. Our hope is that this community would be a source of valuable advice and practical resources, as well as a place where people can enjoy and even share their own stories about life in this unemployed phase. Through this community, we believe that people will be enabled to plot the next move in their careers, whether that be a move to freelancing, a career in a totally new field, a job at a new company or finding the courage and inspiration to build their own company as an entrepreneur.
While no online community or forum can hope to be the sole source for educating and motivating people to take charge of their future, we do hope that we can play some part in helping people become envisioned and see new hope and new, more exciting opportunities for their future.
Success for Laid off 101 could be measured by how many members of this community are able to see the opportunity and new possibilities created by a lay off, as opposed to the very real and immediate pain and discomfort.
